Many people who have researched the electric car market are aware of the streetlegal "MSV", or "NEV" (medium speed vehicle, or neighborhood electric vehicle) but if you are not yet aware of this class of electric car, the NEV has become the MSV, now legal to drive on streets with a 45 mph speed limit, at a top speed of 35 mph, since September 1, 2009, thanks to unanimous passage of SB129 in the Texas legislature.

We ask you to take a few moments and read the links, so that you will understand what they are; understand that today this is the only class of electric car which can be economically bought in the commercial market.

An electric car today can save you from $ 2000 to $ 5000 per year in gas costs, not to mention they do not ever need a tune-up, an oil change, never have a transmission problem, and are nearly maintenance free (only maintenance is for the brakes and tires!) They are so economic, at 2 cents per mile, so beautiful, and so economic (once you own it, it is practically free to drive), it is very definitely worth buying today, even if full speed electric cars should be created and made available in 2 years or less.

The amount of carbon gas and pollution you will not create- in tons of carbon gas released in the atmosphere- is reason enough, but it is nice to save money too. The amount of money you will save on gas can be calculated quickly in the Zenn website, but basically it is the number of miles you will drive the e-car, times $ price per gallon of gas that you don't need to buy, less the very minor cost to charge the e-car at nite (average 40 cents per nite). We encourage you to check the carbon footprint/ carbon gas per year created by any car you consider, including your existing car, on www.fueleconomy.gov. Of course, the e-car has a carbon footprint of zero, and even including the indirect carbon gas from the utility's generation of electricity, it is a small fraction per mile vs any gas powered car, including the cleanest hybrid (more accurate, the least dirty hybrid.)

WHAT ABOUT PRICE POINTS?

The new Zenns today,with benefit of major price reduction campaign are $11k to $12.9k airconditioned (or even lower), you get a tax credit, and they can save you $2000 to $5000 peryear in gasoline. The Zap is $9s to $11ks, and offers a solar roof option. The Sky is $7 to $9 thousand, also has a solar roof panel option. The Benjy Electro is $8k. The new full speed electric cars, when they eventually hit the dealerships in 2011, will all be priced minimally circa $30k. We also deal used e-cars from time to time for even less ! We can get you/ do a highway speed conversion for you for a total as low as $ 12 to $15k !!

And therefore, the MSVs are likely to continue to have use, and even strong value as used cars (logic is, if it costs say $30k for a new full speed, then the large price drop to a MSV will cause some people to want them, just for the lower price.) We speculate today that even used MSVs will continue to have strong values even after a few years use, and even after there are full speed electric cars available in the local market. And we will continue to sell the very economic MSVs, new and used. We have a couple used e-vehicles now. Did we mention, e-cars don't really wear out? E-Cars have been in use in the northern states in fairly big number for several years, but Texans are only now poised to discover the wonder of driving withoutever buying gasoline . The idea of factoring weekly gas costs in the real priceof a car has dawned on us slowly, but it will dawn on each of us.

So quit worrying, and buy your e-car now !! And when you are ready to trade up, we accept trade-ins of anything you buy from us for anythingelse we can sell.
