Houston Electric Cars now sells a big variety of all-electric cars, as well as offering conversion services for all-electric, AND hybrid to plug-in hybrid (PHEV) !  We have highway speed e-cars (used),  and citicars, new and used (45 mph zone max).  Price range for our e-cars is presently discounted, most are from under $6,000, to $13,900, or more if lithium technology is selected. Ask about further discount opportunities.  You read it correct, prices $6 to $13 thousand for electrics, including our highway speed e-cars.  With lithiums, generally $7,300 to $teens.

New lines we sell are NEV class at present, including (1) the "Coco"-- looks similar to the other Smart car, but this one is even "smarter" --all-electric, priced at only $ 9.9k to $11.9k with air conditioning, (2) the Zap, the quirky 3 wheeled electric car and truck offering solar panel roofs, that has been sold more than any other e-vehicle in the world, with around 120,000 sold, from $ 5k (3) the "Sky" which offers several sizes of stripped-down street-legal e-cars with detachable plastic sides, and even an e-pickup truck, four different models well under $10k, (4) the Moose e-van (goes fast and long lithium range but sold as an NEV @ $17.5k new, 13.5k used) we have new and used Mooses!  (5) we still make a market in Zenns-- no longer making new cars, but a Zenn is forever, like beach front property, there are a limited number of them around ! and (6) the Solar Bug by Freedrive. Another thing to keep in mind, the e-car doesn't have an inherent range-- the range is determined by the choice of batteries.  We can sell you an e-car with a 110 mile (one day) range, or the same car for much less money with a shorter range.  When people say their car has a 350 mile range, realize they will take a week to use it, in a week, such an e-car would have a 700 mile range.  So what?  How far do you really drive in a day?  Get a cheap one today, maybe in 2 years you'll want to upgrade the battery pack for a much longer range.  The price if lithium batteries is dropping.  Don't believe word of mouth hearsay about lithium batteries, or statements by people or companies with no direct experience in electric cars-- check it out here, we will provide sources, references, and facts.   No BS at Houston ElectricCars !!!!

Many people who have researched the electric car market are aware of the streetlegal "MSV", or "NEV" (medium speed vehicle, or neighborhood electric vehicle) but if you are not yet aware of this class of electric car, the NEV has become the MSV (Medium Speed Vehicle), now legal to drive on all streets with a 45 mph speed limit, at a top speed of 35 mph, since September 1, 2009, thanks to unanimous passage of SB129 in the Texas legislature . Basically you can get anywhere in Houston in your cheap e-car from Houston Electric Cars.    You may read in the internet about a 25mph max car, but this does not apply in Texas and 11 other states, where MSVs are 35 mph cars which are allowed on 45 mh streets.

We ask you to take a few moments and read the links, so that you will understand what they are; understand that today this is the only class of newly made electric car which can be economically bought in the commercial market.

An electric car today can save you from $ 2000 to $ 5000 per year in annual gas costs, not to mention they do not ever need a tune-up, an oil change, never have a transmission problem, and are nearly maintenance free (only maintenance is for the brakes and tires!) They are so economic, at 1 to 2 cents per mile for low weight e-cars, so beautiful, and so economic (once you own it, it is practically free to drive), it is very definitely worth buying today.

The amount of carbon gas and pollution you will not create- in tons of carbon gas released into the atmosphere- is reason enough, but it is nice to save money too. The amount of money you will save on gas is the number of miles you will drive the e-car, times $ price per gallon of gas that you don't need to buy, less the very minor cost to charge the e-car at nite (average 40 cents per nite). We encourage you to check the carbon footprint/ carbon gas per year created by any car you consider, including your existing car, on www.fueleconomy.gov. Of course, the e-car has a carbon footprint of zero, and even including the indirect carbon gas from a dirty power utility's generation of electricity, it is a small fraction per mile vs any gas powered car, including the cleanest hybrid (more accurate, the least dirty hybrid.) And in Texas, anyone can get clean energy from Green Mountain Energy or others, and drive making a true net zero emissions. Anyone tells you no, just pity the poor victim of false propaganda.

Texans are only now poised to discover the wonder of driving withoutever buying gasoline . The idea of factoring weekly gas costs in the real priceof a car has dawned on us slowly, but it will dawn on each of us.
